Integration with AIGIS

Automated checks on port bans

With the connection between the AIGIS platform of the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport and the Alfapass systems, we have taken a new step in port security. Every Alfapass identity and preannounced visitor in Prean will be screened by the system. Alfapass identities will be automatically deactivated once linked to an active port ban. No set-up or further configuration is required to benefit from this feature. There are several places within our applications that show whenever identities are linked to a port ban and the appropriate warnings are in place.

The Alfapass Smartcard

Every Alfapass Smartcard holder is automatically screened on a regular basis. When an existing cardholder receives a ban, their smartcard becomes deactivated. A similar check happens whenever a new smartcard is issued. This prevents the company that creates the preannouncement from adding the banned identity as a visitor.

Visitor details on the preannouncement

When reviewing a preannouncement, the Visitor section of the preannouncement indicates if a port ban has been found. Expand the details to see more information. The 'Checks on port ban' shows you a history with timestamps since the creation of the preannouncement.

Three different statuses can be shown:

The port ban check for this visitor has run successfully and came back clear. No additional warnings will be shown. The port ban check for this visitor has run and came back negative. The visitor is linked to an active port ban. Warnings will be shown when approving or announcing this visitor. The port ban check has not run or the AIGIS services are currently unavailable. An additional warning will be shown when approving or announcing this visitor.

Announcement

It could be possible that a port ban has only been executed after a preannouncement has been made and approved. In this case the system will alarm the security user upon announcing the visitor.
